It Matters What will screen in Toronto at Alucine on Friday October 4 and Planet in Focus on Friday October 18. I hope you can come!

It Matters What : ”A textual and textural filmic manifesto combining extracts from Donna Haraway’s essay ‘Tentacular Thinking: Anthropocene, Capitalocene, Chthulucene’ with in-camera animation, contact printing and phytograms (the exposure of 16mm film overlaid with plant material and dried in direct sunlight).” (Kim Knowles, programmer Edinburgh International Film Festival)

It Matters What in Latin and Canadian Experimental Films along with films by Cecilia Araneda, Alexandra Gelis, Jorge Lozano and others! The program: “Tackles themes of memory and oblivion, QT2SBIPOC immigrant/migrant experiences, homophobia and transphobia, the passage of time and mortality, these films explore a variety of techniques — such as stop-motion, super8, 16mm, hand-processing, animation, and collage — as well as conventions in the use of space, sound and editing.” (cfmdc.org)
